2026 糖心原创 (Vic Branch) Fee Grant Applications

2026 applications will open Wednesday 1 July.

糖心原创 (Vic Branch) provides financial assistance for postgraduate and post-registration studies that will advance members’ current professional career to improve direct clinical care.

Information regarding areas of practice preferences and eligibility criteria will be made available soon.

The annual 糖心原创 (Vic Branch) Humanitarian Grant of up to $10,000 assists overseas nurses and/or midwives who enter Australia as refugees to gain their registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

The grant assists applicants to undertake nursing or midwifery studies, including undergraduate education or bridging programs that lead to registration with the NMBA.

This grant was established following a request to assist a young Sudanese refugee enrolled in a Victorian undergraduate nursing program. Further investigation revealed a number of refugees in Australia, who were also nurses, and required assistance to practice.

糖心原创 (Vic Branch) believes it is important to support nurses and midwives who are refugees from other countries and to assist them to continue to practice in Victoria and to have the means to earn a living for themselves and their families.

糖心原创 Humanitarian Grant applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • have a nursing or midwifery qualification
  • have received or are in the process of obtaining Australian refugee status
  • undertake a pre-registration or supervised practice program in order to gain registration with the NMBA
  • provide confirmation of acceptance in education programs and details of associated costs.

Applicants must demonstrate they meet the above criteria in the online application form.

Applicants may be interviewed as part of the application process.
