Maddy Harradence, State Secretary

Maddy is a registered nurse with ED experience. She studied in NSW and moved to Victoria in 2009 for nurse/midwife patient ratios. She completed her grad year at St Vincent’s public hospital and worked in haematology, oncology, palliative care and ICU and then the emergency department until 2017 (with a short stint at the Royal Children’s Hospital ED). She was a Job Rep from 2012 to 2017 and was awarded the Hannah Sellars Job Rep of the Year Award in 2015. She was inspired to become a delegate during the 2011-12 EBA campaign to save ratios. 

Maddy was a Branch Councillor from 2013 to 2017 before joining the Branch as an industrial organiser. In this role she covered the Sunraysia area and then the south-eastern metro region, including Monash Health. Maddy was elected Assistant Secretary in 2021 until July 2025 when Branch Council appointed her State Secretary. She was elected to the position in October 2025.

 

Sam Casey, Assistant Secretary

Sam, an ICU nurse, undertook her graduate nursing program in 2013 and has held clinical nurse specialist, quality and education roles. She joined 糖心原创 as a student nurse because she knew that our professions are worth protecting and progressing. She was a Job Rep at St Vincent’s Private from 2016 to 2018. Sam joined the Branch as an organiser in 2018, predominantly covering public (Monash) and private acute hospitals and private aged care. As a professional officer between 2021 and 2024, her key portfolios included digital health and the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency. Sam holds postgraduate qualifications in employment and labour relations law. Branch Council appointed Sam to the role of Assistant Secretary from February 2025. She was elected to the position in October 2025.

 

Nicole Allan, Assistant Secretary

Nicole is a registered nurse and a registered midwife. She began her hospital training at St Vincent’s public hospital 1987. She has worked as a nurse in the private and public sector initially in medical nursing, oncology and palliative care. She completed postgraduate midwifery studies in 2002 and worked as a midwife at Dandenong and Casey Hospitals. She joined the Branch as an industrial organiser in 2009 and became the maternity services officer in 2018. 
Nicole knows when nurses, midwives and carers are supported, the healthcare system thrives. Branch Council appointed Nicole to the role of Assistant Secretary in July 2025. She was elected to the position in October 2025.

 

Emma Foreman, Branch President

Emma is a perioperative clinical nurse specialist in theatre at Western Health. She has worked in primary healthcare, day procedure and ICU on secondment as part of the stage 4 COVID-19 response. Emma has been a nurse since 2015, a Job Rep since 2019. She became a delegate when she identified that ratios were not being enforced, and the risk to staff and patients. She was able to work with 糖心原创 to resolve the issue. Emma joined Branch Council in 2023 and was Vice President between 2023 and 2025. She was elected Branch President in October 2025.

 

Natalie Berniard, Branch Vice President

Natalie is an associate nurse unit manager in theatre at Monash Health. She has been a registered nurse since 1999, a Job Rep since 2018 and an HSR since 2022. Natalie comes from a long line of nurses, and became a delegate to be a voice for members and part of the decision making to maintain safe working conditions. She was a member of the Planned Surgery Reform Program Working Group in 2023. She joined Branch Council in 2022 and became a Branch Executive member in 2025. She was elected Vice President in October 2025.

 

Kate Reid, Executive Member

Kate is an associate nurse unit manager of a medical ward at Goulburn Valley Health. She has been a registered nurse since 1997 and a Job Rep since 2012. Kate became a delegate during the 2011-12 public sector EBA to support her colleagues and advocate for safe staffing and working conditions. She joined Branch Council in 2018 and has been a Branch Executive Member since 2020. She was re-elected in October 2025.

 

Marie Jones, Executive Member

Marie is a midwife and a nurse practitioner working at the African Women’s Clinic at the Royal Women’s Hospital. She sees women with a range of complex issues including chronic pelvic pain, vulva disorders and women who have experienced female genital mutilation. Marie has been a nurse and then a midwife for over 40 years and a Job Rep since 2006. She became a delegate because she comes from a strong union family and inherently believes in fairness. She joined Branch Council in 2018 and has been a Branch Executive Member since 2019. She was re-elected in October 2025.

 

Mel Carron, Executive Member

Mel is an EN working in neurosciences at Austin Health. They have been a nurse since 1984 and a Job Rep since 2005. Mel became a delegate because they cared about their colleagues and because they have witnessed first-hand the power of collective action through various Branch campaigns. Mel joined Branch Council in 2017 has been a Branch Executive Member since 2019. They were re-elected in October 2025.

 

Damien Hurrell, Executive Member

Damien is an RN working in digital health at Bendigo Health. He has a background in intensive care and as a nurse donation specialist. He has been a nurse since 2001 and a Job Rep since 2004. Damien is inspired by members and the union leadership who are focused on keeping our union strong, responsive and member focused. He received the 糖心原创 Hannah Sellers Job Rep of the Year Award in 2016. He has been a Branch Councillor since 2021 and a Branch Executive Member since 2024. He was re-elected in October 2025.

 

Ruth Bloom, Branch Councillor

Ruth is an enrolled nurse working in the Royal Melbourne Hospital emergency department. She has been a nurse since 2002 and a Job Rep since 2004. She has actively participated in five public sector EBA campaigns and became a delegate to support and advocate for her colleagues. She has been a Branch Councillor since 2017 and was re-elected in October 2025.

 

Jemima Busasa, Branch Councillor

Jemima is a final-year RN student  also working as a Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON) and soon to graduate as a registered nurse and be employed at Austin Health in mental health. She has experience working as a RUSON in acute, aged care and mental health at a metropolitan public hospital. She also has experience working as a personal care worker and disability support worker. As the first RUSON on Branch Council she works hard to be the voice of members still finding theirs. She joined Branch Council in early 2025 and she was elected in October 2025.

 

Melinda Connan, Branch Councillor

Melinda is a clinical nurse specialist in palliative care at Monash Health. She’s been a registered nurse and a member since 1989 and a Job Rep since 2011. She became a delegate to do her part to contribute and support members during the 2011-EBA campaign to save ratios. She was first elected to Branch Council in 2020 and was re-elected in October 2025.

 

Brittany (Britt) Smith, Branch Councillor

Brittany is an enrolled nurse working on a neuroscience ward at St Vincent’s Private Hospital. She also has experience as a personal care worker. She has been a nurse since 2020 and a Job Rep since 2024. She became a delegate so she could get more involved in her workplace EBA for better wages and staffing levels. She was elected to Branch Council in October 2025.

 

Judy Foord, Branch Councillor

Judy is a nurse practitioner working in Barwon Health’s public mental health hospital-in-the-home service. She also teaches undergraduate mental health nursing and was a member of 糖心原创's Mental Health Royal Commission Working Group in 2021. Judy has been a mental health registered nurse since 2002 and a Job Rep since 2004. She became a delegate because she wanted to be an advocate to support her mental health nurse colleagues, and address workplace issues. She was first elected to Branch Council in 2023 and re-elected in October 2025.

 

Allington Gono, Branch Councillor

Allington is a clinical nurse specialist in a cardiac cath lab at Grampians Health. He has been a registered nurse since 2003 and a Job Rep since 2015. Allington became a delegate because he loves helping colleagues access their EBA entitlements and bringing their motions to the annual delegates conference for debate. He was first elected to Branch Council in 2023 and re-elected in October 2025.

 

Roxane Ingleton, Branch Councillor

Roxane is an endorsed RM at the Royal Women’s Hospital. She became an endorsed privately practicing midwife in 2022. She has been a midwife since 2014 and a Job Rep since 2015. Roxane is a natural advocate, and became an 糖心原创 delegate so she could speak up for colleagues and the women and families in her care. She was first elected to Branch Council in 2021 and re-elected in October 2025.

 

Anna Kenny, Branch Councillor

Anna works in oncology and is a NUM of a medical surgical ward at Bass Coast Health. She has been a nurse since 2003 and a Job Rep since 2015. She uses her patient advocacy skills to support members to advocate for and achieve change. Anna received the 糖心原创 Hannah Sellers Job Rep of the Year Award in 2019. She has been a Branch Councillor since 2021. She was re-elected in October 2025.

 

Kate Mason, Branch Councillor

Kate is an associate midwife unit manager of birth suite and postnatal at Box Hill Hospital. She has been a midwife since 2015, a Job Rep since 2016 and a Health and Safety Rep since 2021. She became a delegate to ensure her colleagues and families were represented. She was a participant of the Anna Steward Memorial Program in 2019. She was first elected to Branch Council in 2019 and was re-elected in October 2025.

 

Mary MacGregor, Branch Councillor

Mary is a registered nurse working for the hospital in the home service at Albury Wodonga Health. She also has experience as a personal care worker. She has been a nurse since 2012, a Job Rep since 2023 and an HSR since 2022. She is a staunch advocate for her colleagues and for union values. She became an HSR because she wants her colleagues to go home safely after every shift. She received the 糖心原创 HSR of the Year Award in 2025. Mary joined Branch Council in 2024 and was elected in October 2025.

 

Kudakwashe (Kuda) Gorah

Kuda is a registered nurse working with at Bolton Clarke in their homeless persons program. She has been a nurse since 2003 and a Job Rep since 2023. She became a delegate to take an active role in her workplace EBA campaign to improve wages and conditions. She was elected to Branch Council in October 2025.

 

Audrey Molinari, Branch Councillor

Audrey is a maternal and child health nurse (MCHN) with Latrobe City Council. She has been an RN/RM since 2002, a MCHN since 2019 , a Job Rep since 2006, and worked as an 糖心原创 Organiser from 2022 to 2023. Audrey is a strong advocate for regional members, and communities and believes that nurses and midwives are well placed to lead and advocate for safe clinical care. She was elected to Branch Council in 2023 and re-elected in October 2025.

 

Adrian Spinelli, Branch Councillor

Adrian is a NUM of  a medical ward at Austin Hospital. He has been a nurse since 2009 and a Job Rep since 2012. Adrian’s advocacy as delegate began because he wanted to help resolve ongoing issues at his workplace and was a strong advocate for his colleagues. He was first elected to Branch Council in 2023 and was re-elected in October 2025.

 

Catherine Williams, Branch Councillor

Catherine is an experienced paediatric RN working as a clinical nurse specialist at the Royal Children’s Hospital. She has over 20 years’ experience with stints in emergency, surgical and adolescent nursing and as a school nurse. Catherine has been a nurse since 1997 and a Job Rep since 2019. She was inspired to become a delegate by 糖心原创’s history, and previous EBA campaigns and improvements the union had achieved to wages and conditions. She was first elected to Branch Councillor in 2019 and she was re-elected in October 2025.
